Lilo Raymond
Lilo Raymond was born in 1922 in Frankfurt, Germany.
Lilo fled from the Nazi regime when she was 16 years old and settled in Manhattan.
She became interested in photography when she studied with David Vestal at the Photo League. She began to exhibit her work in the 1970’s. Lilo Raymond received a Vision award from the Center for Photography in 2008.

She has photographed various unmade beds, one has two pillows slightly overlapping on a bed which has the sheets slightly pulled down and crumpled.
The position of the pillows and indents in the bed suggest that two people have been seeping there and have now left.
Her photos are very white, with some of her work with other simple colours standing out like black on her dresser.
If I were to recreate a similar photograph for evidence, I would make sure there is lots of natural light, along with white surroundings, so that the different shades stand out.
